What is The Almond Project
The Almond Project is a farmer-led initiative uniting brands, growers, and scientists to make almond farming more sustainable for future generations. By testing and implementing regenerative agricultural practices—such as cover cropping, animal integration, and reduced synthetic inputs—on California almond farms, the project aims to improve soil health, conserve water, increase biodiversity, and support resilient farming communities. Through collaboration and ongoing research, The Almond Project is pioneering new standards for almond cultivation that help preserve natural resources and ensure the future of this vital crop in the face of climate and environmental challenges

Key Objectives
Advance soil health: Implementing practices that improve soil biology and fertility, promote carbon sequestration, conserve water, and increase on-farm biodiversity.
Reduce harmful inputs: Lowering dependence on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers through regenerative techniques.
Monitor and share results: Measuring outcomes like soil health, water usage, ecosystem biodiversity, and farm economics, then sharing findings industry-wide.
Support farming communities: Preserving farmer livelihoods and ensuring the long-term sustainability of almond cultivation.
